In my previous post, I covered the different types of sensors used by smart alarm systems.
In Part 3 below, I briefly outline 5 notable features and functionalities of next-generation wireless smart home alarm systems.
1. NOT THAT EXPENSIVE; REALLY!
Despite what many think, smart home security systems can be affordable, easily installed, and dependable.
2. LOTS OF OPTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO MANAGING AND CONTROLLING YOUR SMART HOUSE ALARM
They are operated using an interface such as a touchscreen, keypad, tablet device, or a smartphone.
3. HIGHLY CUSTOMISABLE TO MEET YOUR SECURITY NEEDS
With most smart house alarm systems it is up to you to decide the code, the entry delay, and exit delay time periods.
4. INTERFACES WITH EXTERNAL PARTIES
All smart-house alarm systems on the market also allow you to program a phone number of who will be called in case of an alarm.
If you are unable to take action, if you do not answer your telephone or if the call is diverted to voice mail, most smart house alarm products will allow you to specify who is to be called next.
When professional monitoring is used, the smart home panel contacts the central station, which in turn contacts the appropriate authorities.
5. ARM AND DISARM FROM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD
With next-generation smart house alarms, arm and disarm your in-home alarm from anywhere in the world with a smartphone or tablet comes as standard nowadays.
This my favorite feature! And one that I use all of the time.
