Hi,
First and foremost apologies for the slight delay this week. The smart home continues to expand, and here are the top stories for last week:
HomeKit Fans
Fans! a topic I rarely if ever touch on the subject because I live here in Windy Ireland. But…for those of you who live in Sunnier climates and require indoor cooling then I have a solution for you! A Hunter fan that will not only, keep the room cool, but is controllable via Siri, Alexa, and Google Home. Pricing seems reasonable, starting at $179. If you are interested in smart fans, this website gives a thorough explanation.
New Intercom
During my early days of installing smart home systems, intercoms were a common feature. The term nowadays sounds a bit archaic, and ‘smart speaker broadcasts’ seems a more elegant description. This brings me nicely to the release of a high-end intercom smart device from a UK-based company called Loxone. Founded over a decade a company, the company provides different types of automation products to both residential and commercial customers. Here are a few noteworthy features of the new intercom:
- No requirement for an Internet connection.
- Includes advanced privacy functionality.
- Hardware features include an HD camera, a powerful microphone, and a hidden speaker.
The surface finish is glass and it looks pretty awesome in the promotional video available here.
