Smart Home Couches πŸ›‹οΈ, Recurring Revenue and a Cheap Smart Doorbell

Happy Halloween to all πŸŽƒπŸ˜Š All good in this part of the world. Lots of activities here today with trick or treating with the younger ones and the older crew I believe are on the town tonight! On the smart home front, I’ve picked out some stories, that I thought you might enjoy this Sunday morning:

Couch Speakers πŸ›‹οΈ

I love coming across these mad smart home stories and this is one. On this occasion, it’s all about integrating smart speakers into a couch. Sounds weird, but the company might be onto something. Implementing a proper home cinema environment can involve a plethora of speakers, that are often not very aesthetically pleasing. Dubbed the Flexound Pulse, this home cinema system consists of a seat that includes some embedded speakers. The speakers chosen are provided by Harmon Kardon, who are serious players in the high-end audio space. Check out the companies site for more product information.

Recurring Revenue For NGSHI Installers πŸ’Έ

Always kept a keen eye on the independent living space and its impact on the smart home over the past decade or more. To be honest, no one has really cracked the nut of bringing quality healthcare into people’s homes. Although the technology has improved over the years, the issue of helping seniors utilize various consumer-grade health devices has been a show-stopper.

US-based company Best Buy is planning to improve this situation through their recently announced acquisition of Current Health, a leading care-at-home technology platform that brings together remote patient monitoring, telehealth, and patient engagement into a single solution for healthcare organizations.

From an installer perspective, healthcare in the home may eventually develop into a multi-billion opportunity. Certified smart home installers will be well placed to install various senior-friendly technologies, ranging from telehealth to emergency concierge and monitoring services for seniors. Keep an eye out for the opening of the next NGSHI cohort over the coming weeks, to help you capitalize on this growing opportunity.
