Did you know that Apple is launching an initiative to bring Smart Home Automation to nearly a billion mobile devices?
Well, they are and it’s called HomeKit.
The main purpose of HomeKit is to simplify the management and control of a home that has various smart devices installed from multiple vendors.
So in addition to writing the Nest Smart Home Automation System Handbook; I recently decided to also put together a mini-ebook about Apple’s new HomeKit smart platform.
And I want to use this post to keep regular readers updated on how the writing and production of the book are progressing.
So first up is the title and sub-title:
Title: Definitive Guide to Apple’s HomeKit Smart Home Automation System
Sub-Title: Discover How to Build Your Own Smart Home Using Apple’s New HomeKit System
Here is a sneak preview of how the cover will look!

This book explains Smart Homes 2.0 and explains the key benefits of Apple’s new smart home automation environment called HomeKit.
Details about the simple steps in setting up HomeKit on your iPhone or iPad are described early on in the book.
Furthermore, section II of the book describes the growing number of smart home product categories with Homekit capabilities:
- HomeKit Enabled Smart Bulbs
- HomeKit Smart Thermostats
- HomeKit Smart Locks
- HomeKit Smart Sensors
- HomeKit Garage Door Openers
Towards the end of section II, Gerard also explains how households that already have smart home products installed can interoperate with Apple HomeKit.
In the final section of this book, Gerard also examines HomeKit capabilities when used with the Apple Watch and iBeacons in the final section of this book.
As with all Gerard’s books; technical illustrations, practical HomeKit applications, insights from Gerard, and details of an awesome monthly giveaway are provided in this publication.
Please note that Apple HomeKit is new and evolving. Therefore, customers who have purchased the book will receive updates to coincide with HomeKit refinements taking place over the coming months and indeed years!
Apple’s HomeKit is destined to make Smart Homes mainstream so why not grab a copy of this book and start ‘smartifying’ your own family home.
